8th PR Fiestas Patronales & Business Exp

“Making History in South Florida”

November 13 thru 16 2008

Hello Dear Friends,

The P.R. Fiestas Patronales & Business Expo is now coming to its 8th year, as the largest Hispanic event in Broward County & in celebration of the discovery of Puerto Rico; we are expecting to make this a Historical one, drawing the biggest crowed ever!

We will be celebrating various significant events for the Hispanic community in South Florida such as:

  1. We will start the Fiestas on Thursday night with free admission, our way of saying thank you to our sponsors and attendees. We will have a party with a live band (to be announce soon) under a huge tent where we will be able to dance all night long, as we use to do back on the island (en las CANCHAS de los pueblos).  We will have a dancing floor so that the SALSEROS can really enjoy themselves, with two bands playing continually so that the music never stops, just like back home.
  2. We have stabilized the cost for the food; there will be no cost over $8.00 for any plate. PR Fiestas Patronales is bringing cooks from Puerto Rico with the authentic flavor from the mountains, and we are assembling the largest Puerto Rican Restaurant ever put together in Florida. It will be open for lunch, and dinner, but from Friday to Sunday before you finish the night, you will also be able to have your ASOPAO con tostones.
  3. People liked her so much that they have been asking for her, so we will have her once again, stopping at the end of her 2008 tour, “ Melina Almodovar”, with her new salsa show, “History of the Salsa. You do not want to miss this show...
  4. For our contemporary salseros, we will not let you down. We are known for, bringing unique concerts, we are already working on this year's show and we promise it will be   once again, one never presented before in South Florida.
  5. As usual, Saturday, our community day, dedicated to the Developmentally Disabled & other disabled friends. They are all invited free of admission & will enjoy carnival rides sponsored by “My First Horizon Group Home”.
  6. We have talked to many parents that have reached out to us advising that one of the best components that we have added to the Fiestas Patronales event was the Kids Town, sponsored by Winn-Dixie.  The parents are now pleased to have a place inside the park where the children can play safely while they enjoy the shows.  The Kids Town will include all kinds of inflatable & children's attractions, plus many surprises.
  7. We are adding a Health Pavilion as a new component to this 2008 event. This will allow our community to receive the latest information from the health industry. This informative pavilion will consist on local hospitals, doctors, organizations, health insurance and much more. Information on Diabetes, Organ Donation, Obesity and New Testing Equipment, just to mention a few are some the topics our attendees will be able to speak with experts about.

Among other features, we will have Authentic Arts & Crafts, Puerto Rican & Hispanic Food, refreshments, Carnivals for kids & adults, the Business Expo & a lot more that we will be announcing as we assemble additional components. We will let you know!
